Daily report - Monday
The first day was a very intensiv day for all participants, beginning with the input lectures by the participating teachers about l´Aquila and Copenhagen for the students in the morning, followed by a visit to the site in the harbour of Copenhagen and informations about the urban developments in Copenhagen by the Head City Architect. After the marketplace of ideas to develop the first concepts we´ve had the first main event of the Open Forum. The sustainable design strategy to be presented and disussed on the first day was Resource Efficiency & Renewable Resources. The lectures from Prof. Manfred Hegger and Prof. Roberto Cherubini as well as the films about the European Investment Bank in Luxemburg and Global Awards for Sustainable Architecture Laureate Sami Rintala were very inspiring. In the discussion moderated by Dominique Gauzin-Müller the necessity to work on all scales of urban and building planning design to reduce our ressource consumption as well as to use cultural and climatic specific strategies was emphasized.
